Ethos Space melts and electrolyzes lunar regolith to produce silicon, aluminum, oxygen, and other raw materials—and constructs heavy structures like landing pads and roads from molten and recrystallized regolith. We have demonstrated production with geologically accurate materials in a lunar vacuum chamber.
Ross Centers
Co-Founder & CRO
Ross Centers came to the question of lunar resources through climate. As founder of the Planetary Sunshade Institute, he has spent years developing the scientific case for a space-based megastructure at the Sun-Earth Lagrange 1 point capable of mitigating global warming by uniformly reducing incoming solar radiation by less than two percent. That work, published through the American Society of Civil Engineers and the International Astronautical Federation, required grappling with a foundational question—where do the materials for a structure of that scale actually come from? The answer pointed consistently to the Moon.
Centers trained at the Colorado School of Mines, the world’s leading institution for space resources research, where he co-founded Hydrogen Alpha, the first dedicated space resources consultancy. His academic and research work covers resource extraction, large-scale space infrastructure, and the geopolitical and economic architecture that would need to exist for any of it to happen at meaningful scale.
In 2022 he co-founded Ethos Space to begin building that infrastructure from the ground up, starting with the most immediate commercial need—landing pads and fuel production for the Artemis-era lunar economy. The company has demonstrated production with geologically accurate materials in a simulated lunar vacuum environment and tested its processed regolith material under actual rocket plume conditions, where it proved stronger than concrete and capable of self-healing fractures under heat. In 2025, Centers appeared on ABC News to discuss Ethos’s expanded vision for the Moon, including the potential for AI data processing infrastructure powered by lunar-based energy systems.
Brogan BamBrogan
Co-Founder & CTO
Brogan BamBrogan was an early team member at SpaceX where he saw firsthand what a truly bold vision could produce. As employee number 23, he spent nearly a decade contributing to the Falcon 1, Falcon 9, and Dragon programs. His responsibilities ranged from primary design of the Kestrel upper-stage engine to leading the early design of the Dragon spacecraft—including detailed work on the Draco thrusters and primary heat shield—to hands-on support across propulsion, thermal protection systems, zero-gravity propellant tank design, and vehicle integration. Prior to SpaceX, he worked at Northrop Grumman on spacecraft systems including solar arrays, deployable antennae, heat shields, and propulsion systems.
In 2014, BamBrogan co-founded Hyperloop One as CTO, helping raise over $130 million and building the technical foundation for what became the world’s most advanced hyperloop development program. He later founded Arrivo, bringing together a team of senior engineers from SpaceX and Hyperloop One to advance next-generation transportation technology.
In 2022 he co-founded Ethos Space, returning to the domain where his career began with a harder, longer-horizon problem—building the physical infrastructure the Moon needs to support permanent human presence. The throughline across his career is an engineer’s conviction that the most important problems are the ones that require you to build something that has never existed before.
